The MBN '무명전설' champion teamed with Jang Han-byeol on KBS2's trot special, performing Song Gol-mae's classic 13 years after her idol debut.

Seong-ri stepped onto the 불후의 명곡 stage on September 5 for the first time since debuting as an idol singer in 2012. The KBS2 music program's National Trot Festival Special Part 2 featured trot acts from across the country: Gangwon, Gyeonggi, Gyeongsan, Seoul, Jeolla, Jeju, and Chungcheong.
She performed as part of the "Global Hwagae Jangter" duo with Jang Han-byeol, who is from Brisbane, Australia. Seong-ri hails from Andong, Gyeongbuk. Together they sang 어쩌다 마주친 그대 (Eojjeoda Majuchin Geudae) by Song Gol-mae. Both came with credentials. Seong-ri placed 1st and Jang Han-byeol placed 3rd in separate competition programs.
Seong-ri won MBN's 무명전설, which ended in May, taking home 100 million won in prize money. The win has changed how she moves through the world.
"Every time I go to a restaurant, they give me a lot of service — that's how I feel the popularity," she said.
On stage, she admitted she had watched 불후의 명곡 since middle school, back when she was still dreaming of becoming a singer. "This moment feels like a dream. It might be my first and last time," she told the cast. MC Shin Dong-yeop disagreed: "It's your first time, but it can't be your last."
Thirteen years between debut and a first 불후 stage is a long wait. She's making it count.
The September 5 lineup also included Han Hye-jin and Eun Ga-eun for Gyeongsan, Shin Yu for Seoul, Shin Sung and Namkoong Jin for Chungcheong, and Kang Hye-yeon and Yang Ji-eun for Jeju.
