Soran returns with EP 'Layer' on September 18, first release since going solo

Soran releases EP Layer on September 18 across music platforms — the first EP since Ko Young-bae (고영배) went solo in January 2026.

From four-piece band to one-man project

Soran debuted in 2010 as a four-member band. That lineup held for over a decade until the January transition. Ko has released four singles since, maintained a steady live schedule through solo concerts and stage appearances. Layer collects the work of that new era.

A promotional website launched September 6 via Soran's official social media. Visitors can build their own mood film using the same format from Soran's official channel — a way to pull listeners into the EP's concept before release day.

'Layer's Room' popup, September 20–24

Soran will run a popup called Layer's Room at LOUNGE M. on the second floor of the MPMG Music building from September 20 to 24. MPMG Music described the space as one where visitors can "encounter the narrative Soran has built this year and the various 'Layers' created in that process." The agency added that the popup will be "organized so that the music and performances released after the transition to a solo format, and the various moments accumulated in that process, can be gathered in one space to look back on Soran's 2026 journey."
