A2O LITE's 'NEON' hits Melon #1 in 29 hours, marking Lee Soo-man's return to domestic production after 3 years
A2O LITE's debut hit #1 on Melon in 29 hours. Producer Lee Soo-man just finished his 3-year domestic non-compete.

29 hours to #1
NEON, the debut single from multinational 9-member rookie girl group A2O LITE, reached No. 1 on the Melon Top 100 chart 29 hours after release. For a group with no prior discography, that's fast.
A2O LITE's lineup skews young: three of the nine members are 13 years old, bringing the group's average age to 15.
Lee Soo-man's 3-year clock runs out
This is Lee Soo-man's first domestic chart impact since stepping back from Korean music production. When he sold his SM Entertainment shares to HYBE, he committed to a three-year moratorium on domestic album production. That window has closed. NEON is his first project under A2O Entertainment as a core producer.
Lee spoke about his approach before release: "What is different from before but can be newly loved — I have thought deeply about that, searched for it, and tested it."
What the number means
A Melon Top 100 No. 1 on debut day—or within the first 29 hours—doesn't happen often for rookie acts. The chart weights heavily toward streaming volume, which typically favors established fanbases. Whether A2O LITE can hold that position as the release cycle extends remains to be seen.
