GIMME TAEK drops electronic single 'CLOSED' with MV based on his own short story
GIMME TAEK dropped 'CLOSED' on Oct. 8—an electronic single paired with a music video drawn from his own short story, '동공숲' (Pupil Forest).

'CLOSED' drops with a self-written narrative behind it
GIMME TAEK (김미택) released the electronic single CLOSED on October 8 with an official music video. The MV was directed from 동공숲 (Pupil Forest), a short story GIMME TAEK wrote himself. That choice alone separates this from a standard single drop.
The track examines what happens when people seal themselves off to dodge pain. Wounds, loneliness, fear of connection—then a turn toward recovery and comfort. Sonically it starts cold and sparse, then warms up. Acoustic layers build as the song progresses, mirroring a slow shift from emotional isolation toward healing.
GIMME TAEK produced the whole thing himself (composition, arrangement, mixing, production).
From Hongdae clubs to self-directed releases
Electronic music wasn't his first language. In high school he led a band and played drums. University brought a composition degree. EDM and DJ culture grabbed him during those years—he learned DJing at Hongdae clubs, made his official DJ debut at a large club in Gangnam, and kept performing across the Hongdae circuit.
His discography spans oB-pPa (Older Brother), Mission-pOP, BBoom MAn, and QUEK.
"I included the theme of inner emotions and healing in 'CLOSED'," he said. He plans to expand his reach by presenting various electronic music to domestic and international markets.
