Kim Gwang-jin returns with first new song in 9 years, announces KBS Arena concert

First new music in nine years

Nine years. That's how long it's been since Kim Gwang-jin released anything new. On November 11, that changes. The track is bright and upbeat—a sharp turn from what he's done before.

Timing-wise, the song arrives amid a whirlwind of live dates. Between early and mid-October, he hit six separate events: Chungju Park Music Festival WITH GUGAK - Chungju (Oct. 4), 2026 ONSO FESTIVAL (Oct. 8), Light Out Trekking (Oct. 10), the 1st Yonsei Art Week (Oct. 11), 2026 Seoul Global Art Night with Receipt Concert (Oct. 16), and GO OUT CAMP (Oct. 17). (One outlet dates these to October, another to November—the exact month remains unconfirmed.)

FLY AWAY at KBS Arena, December 5

The new song feeds straight into a solo concert. 2026 Kim Gwang-jin Concert FLY AWAY happens December 5 at 6 PM at KBS Arena. The title carries weight: embracing the musical journey so far while heading somewhere new. He'll play fan favorites from his catalog plus the new track, which gets its first live performance that night.

KBS Arena is the largest venue he's used since debut. Context: last year's Kim Gwang-jin Song Book Concert and Kim Gwang-jin Winter Concert The Treasure both sold out. So did 2026 Kim Gwang-jin Encore Concert The Treasure and 2026 Kim Gwang-jin Concert Odyssey's Voyage earlier this year. Four consecutive sellouts. Now he's stepping into his biggest room yet.
