RISENNÉ makes history as first Korean girl group with a Disney film ending credit song
RISENNÉ's 'With' from their 4th mini album 'PULSE' closes out Disney's animated film 'Hex: The Witch Kingdom', opening December 25.
RISENNÉ's 'With' heads into Disney theaters
RISENNÉ just became the first domestic Korean girl group to have a song placed as an ending credit track in a Disney film. Walt Disney Company confirmed that With — the title track off RISENNÉ's 4th mini album PULSE, released December 3 — will close out the animated film Hex: The Witch Kingdom when it opens December 25.
The placement covers both the subtitled and dubbed versions of the film in Korea. Hex: The Witch Kingdom follows witch mother-daughter duo Billie and Alice, who stumble through an unexpected portal into a magical world called Hex.
How the collab came together
Disney teased a collaboration with five artists in a video released last month without naming them. A follow-up video dropped December 4 confirmed RISENNÉ's involvement. The clip showed the members transformed to resemble Billie, the film's lead character.
PULSE dropped December 3, with With as its title track. The Disney tie-in gives the mini album an unusually high-profile launch window. The film opens three weeks after the album, keeping With in the conversation through the holiday season.
No Korean girl group has landed an ending credit slot on a Disney theatrical release before this.
