K-Beauty Festa opens November 30 with product booths, skin/color analysis, and a makeup show
There's a regional K-beauty event worth knowing about if you're curious where the industry's manufacturing backbone actually lives. Gyeongsan is hosting the 2026 Gyeongsan K-Beauty Festa starting November 30 at the city's indoor gymnasium main arena. This isn't a Seoul pop-up or a brand flagship moment; it's a production-hub city putting its cosmetics industry on display, and the scale is more substantial than you'd expect.

Sixteen cosmetics companies based in Gyeongsan and three local universities will run a K-Beauty Pavilion together. The university presence is notable — it means you're seeing research and education pipelines alongside commercial product lines, which gives the event a different texture than a standard trade fair or consumer expo. The city's longer-term plan is to build Gyeongsan into a full-cycle K-beauty production hub, connecting R&D, manufacturing, and export through a one-stop support structure anchored by the Global Cosmetic Business Center.

The part that's most interesting for anyone who actually wants to shop: a section called "Deuktem Place" (득템 플레이스 — roughly "score a find") where products from 22 local companies are available at cost price. This provides direct access to local company products at manufacturer pricing.

On the experience side, the programming covers a wide range. Kim Dae-young, director of Just Makeup, is running a makeup show. There's a public contest called "My Own Beauty Cheat Code," a Men's Beauty Quick-Class, and ongoing hands-on stations for skin analysis, scalp analysis, personal color diagnosis, and DIY mist and perfume workshops. Photo zones are also set up throughout. It's built to be participatory rather than just exhibitor-facing, which makes it accessible even if you're not in the industry.

The framing from Gyeongsan City is explicitly about market expansion — giving local brands direct consumer contact and a platform to find new distribution channels.
