Seoul's K-Beauty Festival Pop-Up Is Running Through July 19
The 2026 Korea Beauty Festival (KBF), organized by the Korea Tourism Organization, opened in Seoul on June 24 — and it's the kind of stop worth rerouting your itinerary for. The pop-up, called KBF Beauty House, is set up at Seoul Hiker Ground, which is genuinely easy to reach as a foreign visitor, and it's running a second exhibition phase from July 1 through July 19 on the fourth floor. Think of it less as a trade show and more as a hands-on beauty playground: skin diagnostics, live makeup demos, hair styling, traditional Korean wellness, and personalized color consultations all under one roof.

Here's what's actually happening inside during the second exhibition phase:
Skin diagnosis + skincare matching — Skin Is Good (Skinisgood) runs a skin-diagnosis-linked skincare matching session, so you walk in, get read, and walk out with a recommendation that's actually based on your skin rather than a shelf display.
Personal color image consulting — Image Color House offers professional personal color analysis using their own brand products. If you've been meaning to get a proper personal color read while you're in Seoul, this is a free-access version of what normally costs a session fee at a private studio.

Idol-style braid hair styling — Carried over from the first exhibition, the Korean Beauty Culture Tourism Association brought in licensed beauty masters (from salons including Rian Hair Yeongdeungpo Shinsegae branch, Puruna Hair, Hosu Hair Shop, and Gochu Dragonfly Hair Shop) to demonstrate K-pop idol braid styling. It's a demo, not a full appointment, but the skill level on display is worth watching.
Cheongdam-level makeup demo — Biol Heum Makeup, which carries the know-how of Cheongdam-dong celebrity salon work, does one-on-one point makeup demonstrations. Cheongdam is where idol stylists operate, so this is a real peek behind the curtain.

Lash services — Chat Beauty (operating Gakkum / Nemorae Lash / Aesmin) is offering customized lash perms and extensions. If you've been waiting to get lashes done in Seoul, this is a lower-barrier entry point than booking a standalone salon.
Traditional Korean royal styling — The Korea Beauty Culture Tourism Research Institute and Joeunnnal Nunbushige are collaborating to recreate Korean royal court styling from the Silla through Joseon periods. It's more immersive than a photo booth — they're going for historical accuracy in the styling itself.

Wellness and body work — Dr. Han Ji-hyun K-Beauty Care Center (returning from the first exhibition by popular demand) offers haema therapy and venous therapy through manual massage. Mibyoo is running ear acupressure therapy (auricular therapy), and Diva Skin has full-body circulation treatments. These aren't spa-lite — they're practitioner-led sessions.
Scalp and hair diagnostics — Yeeol Beauty, which won an invention award for scalp clinic work, is doing scalp clinic sessions linked to facial lifting. Bak Jun Beauty Lab and Eco Jardin use an AI smart mirror for individual scalp diagnosis and personalized hair styling recommendations.

Who this is NOT for: if you're looking for a retail haul spot to stock up on sheet masks and toners, this isn't that. KBF Beauty House is experience-first — demos, diagnostics, consultations, and hands-on sessions. The brands here are mostly Korean specialty players rather than the big-name chains you'd find at Olive Young. That's actually what makes it worth the detour: it's the kind of access to Korean beauty professionals that doesn't exist in a standard shopping itinerary.
The first exhibition (June 25–28) already drew strong enough response that several brands — Dr. Han Ji-hyun, Biol Heum Makeup, Eclat Harmonie, Idring Milano, and Yeeol Beauty — extended into the second phase by visitor request. The second phase runs through July 19, fourth floor, Seoul Hiker Ground.
