The SBS Friday-Saturday drama returns August 7 with its original director-writer duo, a new lead pairing, and Yoo Seung-ho as a new chaebol character.

Chaebol X Detective 2 premieres August 7 at 9:50 PM on SBS, taking over the Friday-Saturday slot from Kim Bu-jang.
Ahn Bo-hyun returns as Jin Yi-su, the chaebol third-generation detective from Season 1. His new partner is Ju Hye-ra, played by Jung Eun-chae. She's a veteran detective who happens to be the drill instructor from police academy—the one who once had Jin Yi-su terrified. She arrives as the new team leader of Major Crimes Unit 1. Combative from the start.
The first teaser dropped July 2. Jin Yi-su despairs: "This is a nightmare." Ju Hye-ra shoots back: "It's reality." An unnamed antagonist warns him: "Detective Jin, let's start the game now." Ju Hye-ra tells Jin Yi-su someone is targeting him with intent to kill. The threats span department stores, moving vehicles, and party venues. Bomb terrorism and fire attacks drive the central conflict.
Yoo Seung-ho joins as Yu Seong-won, a new chaebol character. Kang Sang-joon, Kim Shin-bi, Jung Ga-hee, and Kim Myung-su all return from Season 1.
Director Kim Jae-hong and writer Kim Ba-da, who made Season 1, are both back. Season 1 aired in 2024 and peaked at 11% viewership. Kim Jae-hong said: "It is deeply moving and meaningful that Season 2 has been produced."
Ahn Bo-hyun said: "I missed the Chaebol X Detective set. I will create an enjoyable atmosphere so that the new members can feel that chemistry."
