Gong Hyo-jin visited MBC's variety show as a potential female lead for season 2 of its short-form drama, offering praise for the concept but sharp criticism of season 1's script.

Gong Hyo-jin showed up on MBC's What Do You Play? on December 1st as a surprise guest. Only Yoo Jae-suk knew she was coming.
The show's core members—Yoo Jae-suk, HaHa, Heo Kyung-hwan, and Joo Woo-jae—are working on season 2 of their short-form drama series. They brought Gong in as a female lead candidate. Season 1 was called I Decided to Take Back My Woman That My Brother Stole.
Joo Woo-jae started with genuine enthusiasm: "To me you are the future — you're the person who immersed themselves in the character 'future' from Do As You Please." Gong said, "Thank you. I'm grateful you remember."
She'd watched season 1. The verdict was complicated. "Jung Joon-ha did so well that I was tempted," she said, and she praised the mother-son dynamic. But the criticism came next: "The follow-through was lacking. The dialogue was weak." HaHa had an explanation—the script ran long because Kim Seok-hoon had to leave and film Curious Story Y.
Yoo Jae-suk laid out season 2's premise. A character who dies if she doesn't spend 100 million won per day. Gong leaned in. "I really wanted to try playing a rich character. I was always being chased." She paused. "I am tempted."
She came with casting ideas too, recommending actor Jung Jun-won—her current drama co-star—as her male lead. Jung's answer: "If Gong Hyo-jin appears, I'll do it."
Gong didn't spare Yoo Jae-suk his directorial flaws. "The director is too emotional. I've never seen a director who sulks like that." She had a suggestion: "How about beginning with a music video?"
(She also pledged to reveal her home and lend Jung Jun-won's Porsche—he's a brand ambassador—if her drama Married Woman Killer breaks 15% ratings.)
