The live-action Moana has crossed 970,000 cumulative admissions since its July 8, 2026 release, carrying a 9.39 out of 10 audience rating.
Thomas Kail directed the 115-minute American adventure film. Dwayne Johnson voiced Maui in the original animation and returns to play the demigod in person. Catherine Laga'aia landed the title role after beating out a 32,000-to-1 field of candidates. Lin-Manuel Miranda, who composed the music for the original, is involved in production.
Johnson was born May 2, 1972 in the United States. He graduated from the University of Miami with a degree in criminology and made his screen debut in 1999 on That '70s Show (known in Korea as 요절복통 70쇼). He works as both an actor and a professional wrestler. At the 2021 47th E! People's Choice Awards, he took home two film prizes for Jungle Cruise: Movie Male Star of the Year and Movie Comedy Star of the Year.
