Seongri drops 'Sad Rain' after winning MBN's Unmyeong Legend on her sixth audition attempt

Singer Seongri released her winning prize track Sad Rain (슬픈 비) on August 20 through music streaming sites, following her victory on MBN's audition program Unmyeong Legend (무명전설).

Six audition attempts. Seongri finally claimed the title of the show's inaugural champion — the "1st generation legend" — and the prize package that came with it: 100 million won in prize money, a nationwide tour concert, a cruise fan meeting, a program produced under her name, a Jeju second house, and a film with her as the lead.

Sad Rain is an alternative rock track built around Korean soul elements, with a bright rhythmic flow. Kim Jin-ryong (김진룡) handled writing, composition, and arrangement entirely, crafted specifically for Seongri. The lyrics compare the longing and pain left behind after a breakup to rain.

The stage had its first public airing on August 19, one day before the official release, via MBN variety program Legend's Men (전설의 사내). Six audition runs to get here — the song dropping the next day is a tight turnaround.
