UNIS charts in 7+ countries with 'UNI☆Sparkle!', English version of 'GimmeSummer☆' drops Aug 8
UNIS's first Japanese mini album *UNI☆Sparkle!* hit #4 on Oricon and #1 on iTunes J-Pop charts in Canada and the Philippines, setting up the English 'GimmeSummer☆' release.
UNI☆Sparkle! landed at No. 4 on the Oricon Daily Album Chart right after release. The eight-member group — 진현주 (Jinhyunju), 나나 (Nana), 젤리당카 (Jellydangka), 코토코 (Kotoko), 방윤하 (Bang Yunha), 엘리시아 (Elisia), 오윤아 (Oh Yuna), and 임서원 (Im Seowon) — also hit No. 15 on the Billboard Japan Top Album Sales Chart.
The album topped iTunes J-Pop in Canada and the Philippines. It registered on iTunes charts in Germany, the United States, Singapore, France, and Australia. Title track GimmeSummer☆ — a summer song about girls navigating love and friendship — reached No. 4 on the Philippines iTunes K-Pop Chart and appeared on charts in Ireland, Luxembourg, and Italy. B-side BBYBBY also placed in top positions across multiple charts.
The five-track album includes GimmeSummer☆, BBYBBY, moshimoshi♡, mwah…, and a Japanese-language version of SWICY. UNIS also released a collaboration single, Shaking My Head, with Japanese singer-songwriter noa.
The English version of GimmeSummer☆ drops August 8 at midnight KST across online music platforms.
