(G)I-DLE's Soyeon sweeps Korean streaming charts with solo title track 'Toesal Halgeoyeo'
Soyeon's first solo album in 5 years and 2 months debuted at #1 on Melon, Genie, Bugs, and Vibe as of September 19.

Four platforms, one name at the top
(G)I-DLE's Soyeon hit #1 on Melon, Genie, Bugs, and Vibe on September 19 with her solo regular 1st album title track 퇴사할게여 (Toesal Halgeoyeo). The track also topped Melon's Top 100 chart and the real-time charts of Genie, Vibe, Flo, and Bugs simultaneously — a clean sweep across Korea's major streaming platforms. Cube Entertainment confirmed the chart positions on September 21.
This marks her return to solo work after 5 years and 2 months. She wrote and composed all 8 tracks on the album herself. Since (G)I-DLE's debut, she has been credited on the writing, composition, and production of every major team album the group has released.
The song office workers are sharing
퇴사할게여 pairs band instrumentation with lyrics about quitting a job. The track features blunt lines: "I'm resigning, I have nothing to regret, I never planned to work this hard to begin with… goodbye, everyone." Broadcaster Kian84 (기안84) contributed narration. A challenge video featuring Lee Sang-mi of band Ex, Kim Yun-ah of Jaurim, comedian Heo Kyung-hwan, BTOB's Yook Sung-jae, Pentagon, Classy's Park Bo-eun, and rapper Woo Won-jae also drew attention online.
On Instagram, the track ranked #1 on Trending Audio. Reels videos using the song exceeded 9,800 as of September 20.
The 1-billion-won rumor she shot down
On September 18, Soyeon appeared on KBS2 music talk show 더 시즌즈-성시경의 고막남친. Host Sung Si-kyung brought up the new song and quipped that she earns 1 billion won in royalties per month. Soyeon pushed back immediately: "It's a real misunderstanding. It became an issue through provocative Shorts, but that's not the case."
Sung Si-kyung did add, "It'll still be quite a lot" — which did not exactly help.
Cube Entertainment said Soyeon "once again cemented her position as a streaming powerhouse with realistic subject matter and lyrics that speak for office workers' emotions." Soyeon thanked fans and her fandom Neverland, adding she will "keep making music that gives a small breath of fresh air in people's lives."
