Jang Ki-ha, Soyeon, Cho Hyun-ah, and Ko Young-bae line up for KBS '더 시즌즈' on Sept. 18
KBS 2TV's '더 시즌즈-성시경의 고막남친' aired Sept. 18 with four guests, including Soyeon's first solo stage in over five years.

Four guests, one night on KBS
KBS 2TV music talk show 더 시즌즈-성시경의 고막남친 aired September 18 at 10:10 PM. The lineup: Jang Ki-ha, Soyeon, Urban Zakapa's Cho Hyun-ah, and Ko Young-bae of Soran.
Jang Ki-ha opened with 너나 나나. The studio audience stood. Host Sung Si-kyung said: "The song has power. It seems like it could become a banned song for the college entrance exam." Jang Ki-ha has heard that before. "I've consistently heard the comment 'Is this even a song?' since debut," he said. Now he worries the opposite—that losing that reaction means he's gone too safe.
The album came together through what Jang Ki-ha calls 비디오뮤직 (video music). He shot a silent film roughly 30 minutes long, then composed and layered music to match the visuals. His work as music director for films 밀수 and 베테랑2 shaped the method.
Soyeon's five-year gap, and a clarification
Soyeon took the stage approximately 5 years and 2 months after her last solo release. She performed 퇴사할게여 (roughly: "I'm Quitting") and reinterpreted Seo In-young's 신데렐라. The song title was obvious enough that she addressed it head-on: "I am not resigning from Cube. The staff members also provided great help with this project."
Cho Hyun-ah, fresh off Urban Zakapa's regular album 7, performed 그대만 있다면 as a duet with Sung Si-kyung—an arrangement she did herself. Ko Young-bae of Soran showed behind-the-scenes footage from a challenge he ran with Sung Si-kyung (59 teams participated) and outlined upcoming performance ideas. "Now it has become a debt rather than a favor exchange," he said.
(Four guests from wildly different corners of Korean music—an indie veteran, a fourth-gen idol, a jazz-pop duo member, and an indie folk act—in one 10 PM slot is a flex for the show's booking team.)
