Kim Hee-jae on 'REVERB,' the first trot-meets-1MILLION collab, and why she wants more performance stages
Kim Hee-jae stopped by KBS Cool FM to talk *REVERB*, her third album, a historic 1MILLION collab, and the Jo Young-soo track labeled '초대박 곡.'
The third album she still can't quite believe
Kim Hee-jae appeared on KBS Cool FM's Pol Kim's Music Plaza on September 22 to discuss REVERB, her third regular album, and its title track 안녕은 정말 싫어.
Composer Jo Young-soo sent over the guide track with a note calling it "초대박 곡" — roughly, "mega-hit track." Finding it surprising and amazing, Kim Hee-jae reflected on the fact that she had now released a third full-length album.
Trot's first 1MILLION performance collab
The choreography became the real story. Kim Hee-jae partnered with 1MILLION on the title track performance. She became the first trot singer to complete a title track stage with the crew. On the broadcast, she performed 안녕은 정말 싫어 live, pairing the vocal with full performance.
She was direct about her direction: "I like stages where I sing and dance, and I will continue to include performance in my stages going forward."
The physical toll was real. She said the aftermath was tiring, then added that she "felt refreshed instead" once it was done.
"The most joyful" broadcast run so far
Kim Hee-jae called this promotion cycle her happiest music-broadcast experience yet. "The most joyful and happy among all the music broadcasts I have appeared in so far." That's a bar set across a career spanning three studio albums. She closed by crediting the fans rather than herself, saying she wants to give them the glory and that she is grateful for the attention and support they showed right after the album dropped.
