TikTok launch and the July single

Park Yuchun opened a TikTok channel on September 2. He posted choreography for 153cm, the single he dropped in July, and told followers: "Why don't you all try dancing too."

It's his latest move in a comeback running since mid-summer. The new platform gives him direct access to fans outside traditional broadcast channels.

The retirement pledge he walked back

Context matters here. At an emergency press conference tied to a 2019 methamphetamine investigation, Yuchun said, "If I did drugs, I will retire from the entertainment industry." He was subsequently indicted, convicted, and handed a 10-month sentence with a two-year suspended term.

More trouble followed. He owed 409 million won in unpaid taxes across five cases dating to 2016—including capital gains tax—and landed on the National Tax Service's list of high-amount habitual delinquents. A court also ordered him to pay 500 million won in damages to his former agency after he violated a preliminary injunction and proceeded with independent activities.

What's coming up

The schedule is filling out anyway. Two Japan dates are confirmed:

  • September 22 — Fan club YUNIVERSE 2nd anniversary event, Tokyo Grand Prince Hotel Shintaganawa
  • December 17PARK YUCHUN CONCERT 2026, Tokyo International Forum Hall

(Both dates are Japan-only so far; no domestic Korean dates have been announced.)

The TikTok rollout and the concert confirmations read like a full-scale return, not a quiet re-entry.
