Kim Il-du and Dal-byeol drop double single '마도로스 여인', recorded at the foot of Jirisan
Kim Il-du and band Dal-byeol released the two-track double single '마도로스 여인' on October 21, 2026.

Raw grief and a live-wire B-side
Kim Il-du and Dal-byeol (김일두와 달별들) dropped their double single 마도로스 여인 on October 21 across online music platforms. The singer-songwriter—known for carving out space in the Korean indie scene with only an acoustic guitar—pairs here with the band Dal-byeol (달별들).
Title track 마도로스 여인 is a hymn of tender longing for someone who has left, paired with a sincere wish for their safe passage. Kim Il-du's lyrics refuse to dress up the sadness. "사랑하고 사랑하는 나의 귀여운 여인, 별 따는 얘기들로만 낮과 밤 하루를" ("I love and am loved by my dear woman, spending day and night only with star-picking stories") lays the grief out unvarnished.
B-side 뜨거운 불 goes elsewhere. A track built on live-set momentum, rocking band ensemble, vitality that rises from the gut.
Born in Inwol, not a studio
The collaboration grew out of time the two acts spent together in Inwol village, Namwon, at the foot of Jirisan—where Cheonwangbong peak, the mountain's highest point, looms overhead. Eating and sleeping together there, they moved past conventional studio recording toward something that lets naturalness itself into the music.
(This is not a polished city session, and the record sounds like it knows that.)
The group plans to build deeper, more solid musical waves through the interplay of primal energy and fluid performance. 마도로스 여인 is available now on online music platforms.
