Ten years after 'Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim' S1, Yoo Yeon-seok and Seo Hyun-jin are back together in MBC's 'Liar,' premiering October 30.
Ten years, one reunion
Liar hits MBC on October 30 with Yoo Yeon-seok and Seo Hyun-jin at the center. The MBC drama YouTube channel released a teaser titled "유연석X서현진, 과연 최강 라이어는 누구?" ("Yoo Yeon-seok X Seo Hyun-jin — Who Is the Ultimate Liar?").
They last worked together in 2016 on SBS's Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim Season 1. Yoo played Kang Dong-joo, the passionate doctor. Seo played Yoon Seo-jung. A decade has passed since then.
Banter on camera
The teaser catches them in real time, chemistry intact. Asked if she sees Yoo as an older brother, Seo's answer was quick: "No." He flipped it back—did she ever feel frustrated with him? "I always get that feeling," she said. Ten years apart and the dynamic hasn't budged.
That easy, combative rapport is what made their 2016 pairing stick in people's heads. Liar seems ready to lean all the way in.
A note on Seo Hyun-jin
Seo recently lost her father and is currently preparing funeral arrangements with her family. Liar premieres October 30 on MBC.
