Olive Young Just Launched a K-Pop Live Show — and It Sells Albums
Olive Young built a whole live commerce format around K-pop, and the numbers behind it make sense: album category sales on the platform grew 152% year-on-year from January through September 2026. That's not a side hustle — that's a signal.

The new format is called Green Room (그린룸), styled after an artist's backstage waiting room. The concept: an idol host invites a recently-debuted artist onto a talk-show-style live stream, they walk through new music and the album-making process, and viewers can buy the album directly while watching — with Olive Young-exclusive purchase perks built into the stream.

The debut broadcast aired on October 21 at 8PM KST. BTOB's Seo Eunkwang hosted, and four NMIXX members — Lily, Sullyoon, Bae, and Gyujin — appeared as guests. The episode centered on NMIXX's sixth mini-album Strange Muse, with a new-track listening segment and a performance portion.

For fans who watched and bought during the live: there was a raffle with prizes including limited photocards, hand-signed albums, and Olive Young gift cards. Buyers also received a shipping-cost equivalent credited back as Olive Points. It's a tight little ecosystem — watch, buy, get rewarded, repeat.

Green Room streams simultaneously on the domestic Olive Young Live platform, the YouTube channel Olive Young TV, and the Japanese global mall's O.Y LIVE. Real-time Japanese translation is supported, which tells you exactly who they're building this for beyond the Korean domestic audience.

Olive Young started stocking K-pop albums on its global mall back in 2022, then expanded into the domestic online store, offline retail locations, and pop-up stores. Green Room is the next logical move — turning passive album browsing into an event.

The plan from here: two more pilot broadcasts this year, with regular scheduling set to begin in 2027. Artist lineups and show formats are expected to diversify from there.

If you're a fan who shops Olive Young anyway — for skincare, for albums, for both — Green Room is worth bookmarking. The combination of exclusive perks, live interaction, and same-session purchasing is genuinely different from just restocking on a music platform.
