CROSS GENE return after 6 years with debut anniversary single 'Helicopter'
Shin Won-ho and Yong Seok return with 'Helicopter' on June 8—their first release in six years, 14 years after CROSS GENE debuted.
CROSS GENE dropped Helicopter on June 8. Their first new music in six years and six months, since December 2019.
The single pairs the title track with Helicopter (O.C Remix). The title track is about two people still caught up in each other but stuck in the same loop, never closing the distance. The remix keeps that feeling while adding heavier beats and a catchier hook.
Shin Won-ho and Yong Seok handled this one. Shin Won-ho wrote, composed, and produced the whole thing. Both members poured their want to reconnect with fans who stuck around into the lyrics and melody.
The release fell on CROSS GENE's 14th debut anniversary. They debuted in June 2012 with TIMELESS : BEGINS. (Six years between releases is brutal—they're not dodging that reality.)
A live broadcast went up at 8 PM on June 8 via their official YouTube channel. The group called this the start of new music activities ahead.
