HYBE's new label ABD is launching its first artist: 7-member girl group TUIDE, debuting with mini-album TUNE & PLAY on the 24th.
Seohee (서희), Seoyeon (서연), Elena (엘레나), Jia (지아), Saki (사키), Sea (세아), and Lee Haneui (이하늬) make up the lineup. They were born between 2006 and 2011. Members hail from Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Japan. TUIDE comes from "Tune the Tide"—to adjust the flow.
The debut concept lives in the title itself. TUNE means harmonizing different musical languages into one rhythm. PLAY is about maximizing the joy found within that process. Han Sung-soo (한성수), who has worked with SEVENTEEN, AFTER SCHOOL, IZ*ONE, and TWS, oversaw production.
Before the official release, TUIDE held a two-day pre-release event on the 1st and 2nd at Layer Studio 11 in Mapo-gu, Seoul, performing every track from the debut album. That's a bold move for a group nobody had heard of a week ago. The team also dropped member introduction photos and videos across official SNS ahead of ABD's formal announcement on the 3rd.
ABD said the group will "bring new joy to global music fans" through the members' "distinct individuality and multinational synergy."
