K-pop's comeback playbook is getting a physical upgrade. BIGBANG, IVE members An Yu-jin and Jang Won-young, and NCT have each opened — or are opening — large-scale immersive exhibitions in Seoul this fall, all timed to milestone anniversaries.

BIGBANG turns 20 underground

BIGBANG's COSMOS has been running since August 24 in the underground corridor between Eulji-ro 3-ga Station and City Hall Station in Jung-gu, Seoul, marking the group's 20th debut anniversary. The exhibition spans 11 experience zones. Laser shows, unreleased photos, holograms, and interactive content built around the group's music and performances fill the space.

The VR zone is the centerpiece. Visitors put on headsets and find themselves inside a virtual space station where G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung perform songs and rap at close range.

IVE duo goes multi-sensory through September 27

An Yu-jin and Jang Won-young are running An-Young in Seoul at The Seoul Rayteum in Seongdong-gu from September 5 to 27. Unreleased photo shoots and video content come through LED media art and holograms. Each space carries fragrances and ambient sounds the two members selected themselves.

Standard 60-minute tickets run 30,000 won. A special ticket that adds photo cards and posters costs 66,000 won.

NCT's decade gets a month-long run at Lotte World

NCT's NEO DIMENSION opened September 18 at DEEP, the immersive experience platform on basement level 3 of Lotte World Adventure in Songpa-gu, and runs through October 18 — the group's 10th debut anniversary year. Four-sided video and hands-on experiential content map NCT's multi-team history.

SM Entertainment explained the format choice: "NCT's past 10 years have accumulated diverse content including music, video, worldview, photos, and costumes, making it difficult to present in a single format."

Why exhibitions are becoming the move

Culture critic Jung Deok-hyun put it plainly: well-curated idol exhibitions work as fan service and as promotional tools, because they pull fans offline while simultaneously generating social media buzz that a standard music video rollout might not. The physical attendance plus shareable content angle is exactly what makes these exhibitions a recurring format rather than a one-off stunt.

All three are running concurrently in Seoul, with NCT's closing last on October 18.
