Three groups, one award, one stage
Cosmosi (코스모시), PAU (파우), and Ciipher (싸이커스) shared the Global New Wave Award at the 2026 SPOTV K-POP AWARDS on September 6, held at Kintex in Ilsan, Goyang, Gyeonggi Province. SPOTV and global fandom platform BIGC co-operated the ceremony, blending Circle Chart data with global fan voting to pick winners.
Cosmosi were visibly emotional at the podium. "I didn't expect us to receive an award like this," the group said, adding that they would "continue to work hard as Cosmosi." They released their second EP ~ of the world ~ in March. Their track "Stay Alive" became the theme song for a Japanese drama.
What each act brought to the table
PAU dropped new single "FLAVOR" in July and centered their remarks on the fans:
"No matter how hard we sing and dance, without those who support us, we wouldn't have been able to receive this award."
Ciipher went another direction. The group debuted in March 2023 and leaned into the award's name itself. "I will give my acceptance speech globally to match the Global New Wave Award," they said, then greeted fans in multiple languages before asking the crowd to enjoy their stage.
Ciipher arrived at the ceremony with momentum. Their seventh mini-album ROUTE ZERO : The ORA dropped in May, with title track "OKay" earning positive responses on domestic and international charts.
The full ceremony aired live on SPOTV2 and SPOTV PLUS, with Daum streaming coverage from the 3 PM red carpet through the awards show.
