MONSTA X released a FIX version dance practice video for MAGIC, the title track off their new album The Phase. The six-member group uploaded it to their official YouTube channel on the 4th.
The Phase debuted at No. 6 on the Worldwide iTunes Album Chart and claimed No. 1 on the K-pop Album Chart across 11 countries: the United States, United Kingdom, Brazil, and Turkey among them. The album also earned them a first-place trophy on KBS 2TV's Music Bank.
What 'MAGIC' actually sounds like
MAGIC rides a rhythmic guitar and hard beat. The members' rap and vocals sit on top of it all—MONSTA X's signature energy and power still there, just dialed back. Wit cuts through the restraint. Lyrically, the track compares being drawn to someone to magic itself, fixating on emotions that slip out of your control and a fateful meeting (very on-brand for them, honestly).
They're scheduled to perform MAGIC on SBS Inkigayo.
