Moon Ga-young Is the New Face of LUX Perfume Body Wash

LUX — the Unilever global beauty brand that's been around since 1925 — just dropped a Korea-specific perfume body wash line, and they tapped actor Moon Ga-young to front the whole campaign. The ads have been running on TV and digital since July 1, and honestly the casting makes sense: her image reads polished and a little cool, which fits the "mood care" angle the brand is going for.

The concept here is that a shower isn't just cleansing — it's a mood reset. LUX built the line around what they're calling Mood Care Technology™, a proprietary scent method that's supposed to leave a soft lingering fragrance on skin after you rinse off. Three scents in the lineup, each with a distinct vibe:

On the skincare side, the formula carries five actives: panthenol, hyaluronic acid, centella asiatica extract, niacinamide, and tocopherol. The pH is mildly acidic, which is the same range as healthy skin — so it's not stripping. That's a real formulation choice, not just marketing copy.

The line launched first at Emart and Coupang. Starting late July, it expands to OliveYoung and major supermarkets — so if you're in Seoul then, you'll be able to pick it up in person. There's also an Instagram giveaway event running for one month from mid-July, where LUX's official account is giving away limited-edition trial kits.

No but the three-scent structure is actually smart for a body wash launch — it gives you a reason to try more than one, and the mood framing means you can justify owning all three without it feeling excessive. Moon Ga-young's campaign visuals lean into that same idea: choosing your scent = choosing your mood for the day. It's a clean brand message, and she carries it well.

If you're an OliveYoung regular, mark late July as when this hits shelves there. The trial kit giveaway via Instagram is worth entering if you want to test all three scents before committing.
