MONSTA X's Kihyun drops 6-track mini album 'Borderline' on July 7, his first solo release in roughly two years.

Kihyun's second mini album Borderline arrives July 7, marking his first solo comeback in approximately two years.
Starship Entertainment previewed the project on July 3 via MONSTA X's official YouTube channel with a video titled 신곡 없냐 신곡!!! 소개시켜줘야쥬—a track-by-track introduction. Six songs make up the album: title track "So Good" and b-sides "Howling," "Domino," "Lazy Day," "Late Night Drive," and "Stealin' Air."
Kihyun described "So Good" as having "a refreshing feeling but slightly different from refreshing." On "Domino" he noted that "these days there are many songs in the 2-minute range, but this song has everything up to the bridge," flagging it as a full-structure cut in an era of short-form edits. "Late Night Drive" marks new territory: "It's a genre I'm trying for the first time, but I'm particularly drawn to it."
The teasing campaign leaned on AI-generated imagery. Kihyun weighed in: "AI is strange. Humans are still superior."
