Son Seok-gu appeared as a guest on SBS variety program 무엇이든 해줄지니 - 비서진 (aired October 23, Friday nights at 11:10 PM). He used the platform to talk about actor Choi Hee-seo—a connection that stretches back further than most fans probably knew.
They first met when both were selected for a new actor training program hosted by the Busan International Film Festival. Fifteen years later, Son Seok-gu returned to the same festival with Choi Hee-seo this year. On stage at Busan, he didn't hold back.
"제가 이렇게까지 고맙게 생각하는 배우는 희서밖에 없다," Son Seok-gu said—there is no other actor he feels this grateful toward.
The variety show brought the same directness. "희서가 시키면 다 한다" (whatever Hee-seo tells me to do, I do it). "얘 말 들으면 잘 된다" (things go well when you listen to her). He went further: "제 커리어를 만들어 준 장본인이기 때문에 이 자리를 빌려서 감사하다는 말씀을 드리고 싶다"—crediting her as the person who built his career.
